BYU Football Releases First Depth Chart Of 2022 Season

PROVO, Utah – As part of its media day festivities, BYU football released its first depth chart for the 2022 season.
The first look at BYU’s depth chart is an offseason outlook.

BYU enters the 2022 season fresh off a 10-3 season and No. 19 ranking in the final AP Top 25 poll last season.
Last year, there were questions as to who would be the starting quarterback in replace of Jets star Zach Wilson. There isn’t a debate this season as fifth-year junior Jaren Hall steps into his second full season as BYU’s QB1.
A big item on BYU’s depth chart is who will replace the program’s single-season rushing leader in Tyler Allgeier. Allgeier was a 5th-round pick in the 2022 NFL draft to the Atlanta Falcons. A favorite to replace Allgeier is Cal grad transfer Christopher Brooks who sits atop the projected RB depth entering fall camp.

Hall has a host of talented pass catchers ready to make big plays in the receiving game, headlined by Washington transfer Puka Nacua and fifth-year senior Gunner Romney.
On defense, BYU brings back Keenan Pili and Payton Wilgar at linebacker. The two stars missed significant portions of the season due to season-ending injuries. However, they are back and look to lead a defense that’s out to prove last year’s 74th total defense mark was an outlier.
BYU has one of the nation’s best punters on special teams in Ryan Rehkow. The third-year sophomore has an NFL-sized leg, but he’s rarely used, which isn’t a bad thing for Kalani Sitake’s group.
