The former Tiger shared the news via his Twitter account on Thursday, December 22.
“My family came to the U.S. more than 10 years ago to follow a dream. Today, I am following a personal dream I have had since I was a child. I have watched my three older brothers play professionally, and now it is my turn. After three memorable years at Oregon, I am officially declaring for the 2023 NFL Draft,” Sewell posted.
The linebacker looks to follow in the footsteps of his brothers, Gabe, Nephi, and Penei, who all play professional football. Penei (Detroit Lions) and Nephi (New Orleans Saints) both play in the NFL. Gabe is a member of the USFL’s Philadelphia Stars.
Earlier in December, ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. and Jordan Reid both rated Sewell as a top-five insider linebacker prospect in the 2023 class.

“Thank you to my teammates — we have created bonds and a brotherhood that will last forever. I love you guys and will miss playing with all of you. Also, a special shout out to the Ducks fans who made Autzen the best game experience in the country. I loved playing for you and will miss “Shouting” will all of you.”
“Finally, I could not chase this dream without my parents, my brothers, my sister and our extended family. I appreciate your love and support, and I will represent the Sewell name proudly in the NFL.”
