Report: Bucks Interested In Former BYU Guard Elijah Bryant

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Milwaukee Bucks are once again showing interest in former BYU guard Elijah Bryant. According to the website sportando, the Bucks have interest in signing the guard for the remainder of the NBA season.
Bryant currently plays for Maccabi Tel Aviv whose season recently ended, but could leave the team to make his NBA debut. However, without a prewritten buyout clause in his contract, Bryant and Maccabi would have to come to an agreement to let him out of his current deal before he could join the Bucks.
The former BYU guard is familiar with the Bucks having played for the franchise at the 2019 NBA Summer League.

Bryant has had a productive career with Maccabi, averaging 10.2 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in 79 career appearances. The guard also shoots an impressive 48 percent from the floor and 39 percent from three during his career overseas.
The Bucks own the third seed in the Eastern Conference with seven games remaining and would have to waive a player to make room for Bryant.
Rodions Kurucks is the player most likely to be waived by Milwaukee after appearing in only five games this season for the Bucks.
Bryant made the NBA radar after two seasons at BYU. The guard averaged 15.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists while shooting 47 percent from the floor including 37 percent from three as a sophomore and junior.

Bryant declared for the NBA draft his junior season but joined Hapoel Eilat of the Israeli Premier League after going undrafted.
The BYU product wouldn’t be the only Bucks player with ties to Utah. Milwaukee drafted former Utah State star Sam Merrill with the final pick of the 2020 draft.
