SALT LAKE CITY UT- Jaxson Dart has been named the KSL Sports Live Hometown Hero of the week. Dart, a Corner Canyon grad, lead a comeback this weekend as Ole Miss defeated Vanderbilt 52-28. Dart threw for over 400 yards in the victory. A huge week for the hometown hero.
Dart’s day started a bit shaky as he threw two interceptions early in the game, but the Corner Canyon alum threw for 448 yards and three touchdowns after the slow start. With the win, Ole Miss is now ranked as the number nine team in the country.
Jaxon Dart’s Hometown Hero Numbers Thus Far
Dart has had a dominant season at Ole Miss. He’s thrown for 1,358 yards this year for the Rebels as well as hurling eight touchdown throws. Those numbers already eclipse his performance last year as the starter for USC for part of the year.
Dart also has 256 yards rushing on the ground. The versatile athlete has certainly made his mark on one of the most difficult conferences in the country.
Dart’s pocket awareness is also a valuable asset for him. He’s only taken one sack this year. Avoiding taking negative plays has been something Dart has clearly worked on.

Before Saturday’s game, Dart had thrown only three interceptions this season. A lack of big-time mistakes has been crucial to a hot start for Ole Miss.
What lies ahead though are real tests for Dart, this week Ole Miss will play Auburn at home before heading to death valley to take on the LSU Tigers. Then after a tussle with a ferocious Texas AM defense Ole Miss will take on Alabama. We will find out very quickly just how much of a contender the hometown hero, Dart can make the Rebels.
Jaxson Dart’s High School Statistics
While at Corner Canyon Dart lit up the scoreboard. Dart threw for 10,688 yards over his career at Corner Canyon as well as throwing for 117 passing touchdowns.

Dart’s Odyssey To Ole Miss
Dart transferred to Ole Miss in January, after having a semi-successful second half of the year at USC. Though after the change in coaching at Southern Cal to former Oklahoma Head Coach Lincoln Riley and the subsequent transfer of Caleb Williams, Dart made the move to the SEC.
That move has paid off as Dart has the Rebels looking like one of the most compelling dark horse stories in college football.
