SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz aim to exact revenge and even the 2019-20 season series when they host the Indiana Pacers for the only time this season.

Utah welcomes Indiana into Vivint Smart Home Arena on Monday, January 20.

The Jazz look to bounce back from a lopsided defeat against the Pacers earlier this season. Indiana hosted Utah at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on November 27, 2019. The Pacers blitzed the Jazz, won the game 121-102 and took a 1-0 lead in the season series.

First Meeting

Indiana had three members of its starting lineup score 22 points or more against the Jazz. The well-balanced attack was led by Pacers guard Malcolm Brogdon who recorded 22 points, 4 rebounds, and 8 assists. Indiana forward Domantis Sabonis posted 23 points and 12 rebounds while T.J. Warren had poured in 23 points as well.

The Jazz allowed the Pacers to shoot 52.1 percent overall and 36.4 percent from three-point land.

Conversely, Utah shot 43.4 percent on field goals including 31.3 percent from behind the arc.

Former Pacers and current Jazz forward Bojan Bogdanovic led Utah with 30 points on 8-13 shooting in his first game back in Indianapolis. It was one of nine games that Bogdanovic has posted 30 points or more in a game this season.

Utah star Donovan Mitchell scored 26 points on 10-23 from the field.

Where They Sit Now

Indiana comes to Utah with a 27-15 overall record but is 10-10 away from Indianapolis.

Warren leads the Pacers in scoring this season. He is averaging 18.1 points per contest on 50.9 percent shooting.

The Pacers will be without guard Victor Oladipo who is recovering from an injury that he suffered last season.

The Jazz own a 29-13 record and are 16-3 at home this season.

Utah enters the second meeting with Indiana having won 16 of its last 18 games. The Jazz have only lost six times since facing Indiana and are a different looking team than the one that played in Indianapolis nearly two months ago.

Since losing to the Pacers, the Jazz have traded for Jordan Clarkson, signed Rayjon Tucker, lost Mike Conley to injury, and seen Conley return after missing a month of games.

Mitchell leads the Jazz in scoring this season. He comes into the matchup with Indiana averaging 24.7 points per game on 45.7 percent shooting.

The Pacers and Jazz tip-off on Monday, January 20 at 7 p.m. (MDT). The game will broadcast on NBA League Pass, AT&T SportsNet, and 97.5 FM.
