Utah Warriors Prepare For Toronto Arrows Ahead Of Home Stand

Mar 24, 2023, 1:59 PM | Updated: 2:10 pm

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Warriors are preparing for a match against the Toronto Arrows which will kick off a home stand after starting the season with a lot of travel.

The Warriors have started the season 2-2. After playing 3 of 4 games on the road, they prepare to play 3 of the next 4 in front of the home crowd.

Utah Warriors Ready To Take On Toronto Arrows

Toronto currently sits in last place in the Eastern Conference. Warrior’s head coach Greg Cooper still had high praise for the Arrows.

“They’re a fighting team,” Cooper said. “They look to me like they have a great team spirit because they don’t go away. They have aggressive carriers and aggressive line speed. We have to meet their physicality or we’ll come second.”

Utah is coming off of a 37-14 loss to the NOLA Gold. The upcoming home games could provide some much-needed momentum for the Warriors.

Following the game against Toronto, the Warriors will play three teams that currently have better records. Seattle is undefeated and New England hols the top spot in the Eastern Conference.

“Playing on the road brings a change to build to spirit,” Cooper said. “But, it’s a great crowd here. Our environment and our conditions, it’s nice. We’ve done a lot of travel, been away a lot. It’ll be nice to be home.”

Despite the blowout loss, Cooper explained that there were still positives to build on and lessons to learn from.

“There were a lot of positives,” Cooper said. “We operated at 85% tackle efficiency, but we missed some crucial ones. Our scrum was very good. We created opportunities but didn’t finish opportunities.”

Toronto currently has the least tries and the second-worst point differential in the league. The Warriors aim to regain a positive record and never look back.

“We’re 2-2 and we’d like to be higher than that,” Cooper said. “We got a couple of really important games going forward. If they go our way, then we’re right in the mix again.”
