SALT LAKE CITY – After a memorable performance against the Seattle Seahawks, Taysom Hill earned the first honor of his NFL career.
On Wednesday, Hill was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week.

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons earned NFC Defensive Player of the Week.
Hill rushed for 112 yards on nine attempts and scored three touchdowns in a 39-32 win over Seattle. He also completed a 22-yard touchdown pass, showing that he’s more than capable enough of passing the rock.
On one of his runs against the Seahawks, Hill, who ran a 4.44 40-yard dash coming out of BYU in 2017, was clocked in at 20.7 miles per hour.

There were a lot of questions coming into the season about Hill’s role within the Saints offense now that Dennis Allen is the new head coach. Former head coach Sean Payton was high on the former BYU quarterback, and before Jameis Winston’s arrival, there was a belief that Hill would be the next starting quarterback in New Orleans after Drew Brees.
That never materialized.
Taysom Hill continues to make an impact
It was expected that Hill would primarily be in a tight end “F position” role under Allen’s new regime. But based on the number of carries he got against the Seahawks, maybe he should now be classified as a running back.
Along with stuffing the box score, Taysom also had a block that helped the Saints run out the clock in the win. New Orleans is now 2-3 overall and in second place in the NFC South division behind the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Hill is in his sixth season with the Saints. New Orleans is next in action this Sunday when they host the defending AFC Champion Cincinnati Bengals at 11 a.m. (MT).
