SALT LAKE CITY – The Carolina Panthers plan to elevate a former Utah Utes safety to their active roster for Week 4, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
On Saturday, October 1, the NFL insider reported the Panthers were promoting Marquise Blair from their practice squad ahead of Week 4.
“The #Panthers are elevating former #Seahawks second-round S Marquise Blair to their game-day roster, source said,” Rapoport tweeted.

Blair joined Carolina’s practice squad in early September after getting waived by the Seahawks.
Before his NFL career started, the Wooster, Ohio native was a standout player for the Utes from 2017-18.
During his college career, Blair recorded 107 total tackles, 79 solo tackles, five tackles for loss, two interceptions, six pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 23 games played.
In 2019, the Seahawks selected Blair with the No. 47 overall pick during the second round.
During his first three seasons, Blair posted 49 total tackles, 34 solo tackles, three forced fumbles, and three pass breakups in 22 games. Last season, the safety suffered a knee injury that caused him to miss significant time.
Marquise Blair should find himself a safehouse or a relative close by. Lay low for a while, because he’s probably wanted for murder after this. #utes #UtesInTheNFL pic.twitter.com/1WTuobZD8P
