Jazz Beverley Draws Ire Of Kevin Durant After Nets Criticism
SALT LAKE CITY – Utah Jazz guard Patrick Beverley shared his thoughts on how the Brooklyn Nets and superstar forward Kevin Durant have conducted business this offseason.
On Tuesday, the Nets announced that despite multiple trade requests from Durant, the team had met with the disgruntled forward and agreed to move forward together.
Beverley took to Twitter to voice his criticism for how the situation was handled.

“Yal can sit and don’t say nothing but that ain’t cool,” Beverley tweeted. “It’s dudes with families out here who haven’t got a job because of this KD [stuff]. And to be on and off ain’t cool. Blessing Gang.”
The Jazz guard was critical of how the ongoing trade discussion between the Nets and Durant essentially put a hold on all other deals in the NBA as front offices around the NBA waited for the largest domino to fall.
Durant took exception to the tweet soon after, quote tweeting Beverley’s post with the response “BLAMEKD.”
Damn gang who said I was talking about u. I’m speaking of how it was done. Both sides need keep that private. But noted📝 https://t.co/5T9ITP2Ka2

Beverley responded by saying his criticism of the situation wasn’t directed solely at Durant.
“[Darn] gang who said I was talking about u,” Beverley responded. “I’m speaking of how it was done. Both sides need keep that private. But noted.”
The Nets will now move forward with Durant and point guard Kyrie Irving who opted into the final year of his contract with Brooklyn in June.
The team is also expected to see Ben Simmons make his Nets debut this season after he was acquired in a deal for James Harden at February’s trade deadline.
Brookyln also acquired former Jazz forward Royce O’Neale shortly before free agency began in hopes of adding a veteran defender off the bench.
The Nets have had one of the most talented rosters in the NBA over the last two seasons but have yet to make a run to the NBA Finals with Durant and Irving under contract.
Beverley was one of five players acquired by the Jazz in their blockbuster trade that sent Rudy Gobert to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
