LA Rams Activate Eric Weddle Ahead Of Playoff Game
SALT LAKE CITY – The Los Angeles Rams announced on Monday morning that they have activated former Utah All-American safety Eric Weddle from the practice squad.
Eric Weddle signed with the Rams’ practice squad on Wednesday, January 12 and is now available to play in their NFC Wildcard matchup against the Arizona Cardinals on Monday night.
Weddle retired from the NFL in 2020 after playing 13 years in the league. The six-time Pro Bowler spent time with the Chargers, Ravens and Rams during his decorated career after being selected in the second round of the NFL Draft.
Before retiring, Weddle posted 1235 tackles, 30 interceptions, 11.5 sacks, 41 tackles for loss, 5 touchdowns, 8 forced fumbles, and seven fumble recoveries.
Weddle is beloved by NFL and Utah Football fans for a multitude of reasons, including his joyous personality and the way he celebrates wins with a massive bowl of ice cream.
The Rams are set to take on the Arizona Cardinals in the NFL Wild Card Round on January 17 at 6:15. You can watch the game on ABC.
Los Angeles posted a 12-5 record for the 2021-22 season.
