New Jazzman Whiteside Blocks Pair Of Thunder Attempts On Single Possession

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Jazz center Hassan Whiteside blocked a pair of shot attempts on a single possession during the opening quarter of Utah’s season opener against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Jazz hosted the Thunder at Vivint Arena on Wednesday, October 20.
Midway through the first quarter, Whiteside entered the game in relief of Rudy Gobert.
During his first minute on the court, the new Jazzman swatted a pair of shots by the Thunder.
With 6:25 left in the quarter, Whiteside rejected a jump shot by OKC’s Darius Bazley.
11 seconds later, the center prevented a block attempt by former Jazzman Derrick Favors.

At the end of the first quarter, the Jazz owned a 27-18 lead.
Whiteside finished the opening 12 minutes with two points, four rebounds, and two blocks in four minutes of action.
After one, the @utahjazz lead the @okcthunder 27-19.
Jazz were led by Rudy Gobert who had 11 points and 5 rebounds.
