PROVO, Utah – BYU football will pay tribute to Ty Jordan on Saturday night before the rivalry tilt with the Utah Utes.
On Wednesday, Billy Nixon, the director of Equipment and the Player Experience, posted a photo of a flag that BYU will carry out onto LaVell Edwards Stadium before the 94th meeting against their in-state rivals.

The flag features the LLTJ logo, “Long Live Ty Jordan,” with a pair of two’s to former Ty Jordan’s number 22, shaped in a heart.
Back on Christmas, Jordan tragically passed away from a single gunshot wound to the abdomen on Christmas night. He was only 19 years old.
In one season at Utah, Jordan became the Pac-12 Offensive Freshman of the Year and emerging as a future star at the position for the Utes. Last week, the University of Utah dedicated portal 22 in honor of Jordan at Rice-Eccles Stadium.
BYU football players Keanu Hill, Chaz Ah You, Lorenzo Fauatea, and Jacob Conover were in the picture holding up the LLTJ flag. It has not been announced which player will carry the flag onto the field before kickoff against the Utes.
Along with a flag honor Ty Jordan, BYU will also carry out a flag commemorating the 20th anniversary of 9/11. In addition, BYU will wear a decal on the back of the helmets that says, “9/11 NEVER FORGET.” That same logo will also appear on one of the flags BYU is carrying out on Saturday night.
