SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell did what he does best and that’s getting to the rim and throwing down dunks.
Donovan Mitchell did that in the first quarter against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday night at Vivint Arena by throwing down a dunk.
Bojan Bogdanovic gave Mitchell the ball on the right wing when he slashed to the rim past three defenders and threw down an easy two-handed slam dunk.
That dunk gave Mitchell 8 points and the Jazz a 17-11 lead with 5:39 left in the first quarter. Mitchell made his first two three-point attempts to spark a quick lead for the Jazz against the Cavaliers.
Utah had a 27-18 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Mitchell has been on a tear as of late. He has scored 35 points in each of the last two games, both wins over the Memphis Grizzlies. The Jazz are going for their sixth straight win and build on their record, which is currently the best in the NBA. With a win over the Cavaliers, the Jazz will tie the franchise record for the longest home winning streak at 20.
Monday’s game wraps up a four-game homestand. They will hit the road for a quick trip to Memphis on Wednesday, March 31 at 6 p.m. MT on AT&T SportsNet.
