San Francisco 49ers Re-Sign Former BYU DB Kai Nacua

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Former BYU safety Kai Nacua tweeted that he resigned with the San Francisco 49ers.
The former Cougar defensive back shared the news on Wednesday, February 10.

Nacua first joined the 49ers as a member of their practice squad on November 24, 2020.

Nacua played in five of San Francisco’s games down the stretch in 2020.
He ended the season with one total tackle and one solo tackle.
About Kai Nacua
Prior to his time in the NFL, Nacua played defensive back at BYU from 2013-16.
During his time in Provo, Nacua had 158 total tackles, 111 solo tackles, eight tackles for loss, two quarterback hits, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and 14 interceptions.
The safety joined the Cleveland Browns shortly after going undrafted in the 2017 NFL Draft.
During his rookie campaign, Nacua played in 16 games, including three starts.
Since then, the defensive back has spent time with the Baltimore Ravens, Carolina Panthers, Indianapolis Colts, and Niners.
He owns career starts of 15 total tackles and 13 solo tackles.
