Utah Volleyball Star Dani Drews Named Pac-12 Offensive Player Of The Week

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah Volleyball star Dani Drews was named Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week after her strong performance against Arizona.
The Utah Volleyball team is coming off of a sweep over the Arizona Wildcats this weekend and Dani Drews led the charge. Drews recorded 28 kills, while hitting .317, and averaged 4.67 kills per set and 5.42 points per set.
She led the Utes with 15 kills on Friday and 13 on Sunday. Utah swept both matches 3-0 against the Wildcats. Drews was strong on the defensive end as well with 12 digs on Friday and 9 on Sunday.

It’s the third Pac-12 weekly award for Drews in her career. The Utes were picked to win the Pac-12 in the preseason poll and entered the season ranked No. 10 in the country in the AVCA rankings. After their two wins over Arizona, Utah moved up two spots to No. 8 in the nation.
Oregon’s Georgia Murphy was named Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week and Marta Levinska earned Conference Freshman of the Week honors.
Utah and the Pac-12 will play a conference-only schedule with 22 matches in the regular season before the NCAA Championships start following the selection show on April 4.
The Utes will play their next four matches on the road beginning with a two-match series with California on Friday, January 29 at 7 p.m. MST and Sunday, January 31 at 1 p.m. MST. Then they will go to Tempe to face Arizona State on Friday, February 5 at 3 p.m. MST and Sunday, February 7 at 1 p.m. MST.
