Zach Wilson Reveals BYU Football Team Are Proud Members Of Bachelor Nation

PROVO, Utah – BYU’s Zach Wilson is known for his around the clock film study, but sometimes you have to take a break. Everyone needs to unwind at some point with something you enjoy.
For Wilson and other BYU football team members, they unwind while watching the popular TV show, The Bachelorette.

“Surprisingly, I think a lot more people watch it than they’d admit,” Wilson said. “A bunch of our coaches watch it. I don’t care what they say; I know they watch it. I’m with me and my three roommates, two of our main receivers, at home watching it. So, there’s a whole bunch of guys that watch it.”
BYU offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes was the one that revealed Wilson is a Bachelorette fan. The two exchanged texts on Tuesday night, with Grimes asking his star QB what film he was watching.
“I gave him a hard time about that because it’s unusual for me to find him not watching film when I text him and I’m watching film,” Grimes said. “But I was talking to him about something, and he goes ‘oh, but be sure, coach, I’m going to watch some film after this.’ He’s a film junkie and he’s that way because he loves the game.”

If only former BYU QB Bret Engemann ended up on this season of The Bachelorette as originally planned. Then Wilson could have told Grimey he was studying an old BYU QB operate under pressure.
It’s not just Wilson who has been a fan of the Bachelor/Bachelorette over the years on this year’s BYU team. Fullback/tight end Kyle Griffitts has held live Twitter threads sharing his thoughts on the show in the past. It’s a movement, and dare I say, a nation. Jeff Grimes realized that as well, when he returned to work the day after his text exchange with Wilson, “We come to find out the next day in practice that a lot more people watch it than he thought,” Wilson said.
