OREM, Utah – Orem High offensive tackle Kingsley Suamatia is considered to be the state of Utah’s consensus number one recruit in the class of 2021.

Nationally, Suamataia ranks as the No. 58 ranked recruit in the 247Sports Composite Rankings. The best college football programs in the country have been offering the 6-foot-5, 280-pound Suamataia dating back to when he was in the eighth grade.

On Saturday night, Suamataia narrowed down the list of schools he’s considering to just seven.

“First of all I want to thank God and my family for all your love and sacrifice. Thank you to all the coaches and schools who have recruited me, grateful for this one in lifetime experience,” wrote Sumataia on his personal Twitter account.

Suamataia put together a video revealing his top seven schools and it featured all the mailers the talented Orem High tackle has received during his recruiting process. The state of Utah’s three FBS programs in BYU, Utah, and Utah State all made Suamataia’s Top seven cut.

Along with the in-state schools, Suamataia’s top seven also included Pac-12 powers Oregon and USC, Arkansas from the SEC, and Bronco Mendenhall’s Virginia Cavaliers in the ACC.

According to 247Sports, Oregon is the favorite to land Suamataia who hasn’t decided on a date when he plans to announce which school he will be committing to in the class of 2021.

BYU was the first school that offered Sumataia when he was in eighth grade. The Cougars have seen a little bit of a resurgence in their recruitment of the Orem High standout since Jasen Ah You took over as the Cougars Director of Recruiting. Utah continues to leave an impression on the four-star tackle. Suamataia’s first school he revealed in his top seven was the Utes.

In the past two years, Suamataia has been a key piece to the Orem Tigers back-to-back state championships in 4A in 2018 and 5A last season. The Tigers will look to become the first program since Juan Diego in 2017 to win three consecutive state championships.

Earlier this month, Suamataia was invited to play in the 2021 All-American Bowl which will air on January 9th on KSL 5 TV.
