PROVO, Utah – One thing that sports fans are all clinging to through these uncertain times is the hope of football coming this fall. No games for either BYU Football or the NFL have been canceled and when this story published fans haven’t been told they can’t attend games.
We can only hope it stays that way. One, because we all want football but two, there are some great road trips for BYU football fans during the 2020 season.
Scorching hot road trip
September 19th: BYU at Arizona State
September 20th: Arizona Cardinals vs. Washington Redskins
September 21st: Las Vegas Raiders vs. New Orleans Saints
This first suggestion might be the best possible road trip for BYU fans this fall. If it isn’t the best, it will definitely be the hottest. BYU travels to Tempe, Arizona for the first time since 1997 to take on the Arizona State Sun Devils.
The following day, head down to Glendale to see Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury and his new and improved offense with Kyler Murray at quarterback and DeAndre Hopkins at receiver host the Washington Redskins.
Raiders opening up @AllegiantStadm in Vegas against Taysom Hill and the #Saints?
I have a feeling a lot of #BYU fans in Sin City will be trying to get tickets to this one.#RaiderNation https://t.co/Hfg7CbL5U7

Now, this is where it gets really fun. Hop in your car and go 300 miles northwest of Phoenix and you’ll end up in Las Vegas, Nevada. On Monday night, the Las Vegas Raiders open up their brand new digs at Allegiant Stadium and the opponent is the New Orleans Saints featuring former BYU star Taysom Hill.
BYU in MPLS
September 26th: BYU at Minnesota
September 27th: Minnesota Vikings vs. Tennessee Titans
This September will mark the first time in BYU’s history the Cougars face the Minnesota Golden Gophers from the Big Ten Conference. It will also be the first time BYU has ever played a game in the state of Minnesota. So Cougar fans, you might as well make it a memorable trip by sticking around till Sunday for an NFL game at the fancy US Bank Stadium pairing the hometown Vikings against Derrick Henry and the Tennessee Titans.
A weekend of old rivalries
November 14th: BYU vs. San Diego State
November 15th: Las Vegas Raiders vs. Denver Broncos
The first part of this trip won’t require you to leave the state of Utah. BYU hosts San Diego State on Saturday, November 14th at LaVell Edwards Stadium. It will be the first time BYU hosts San Diego State in Provo since the two were old Mountain West Conference rivals.
After enjoying BYU-SDSU, drive five hours down I-15 South and head to Las Vegas for a matchup between two AFC West rivals in the Raiders and Broncos.
Travel down Pacific Coast Highway
November 28th: BYU at Stanford
November 29th: Los Angeles Rams vs. San Francisco 49ers
BYU makes only its second trip in program history to “The Farm” to face the Stanford Cardinal in the regular-season finale on November 28th. Then one day later you can watch the defending NFC champion San Francisco 49ers in action. But not in the Bay Area, down in sunny Los Angeles against the Rams.
Cruise down Pacific Coast Highway to see the 49ers take on the Rams in the new $5 billion SoFi Stadium in Inglewood up close and in person.
