PROVO, Utah – The No. 19 BYU football team overcame a slow start to defeat the Wyoming Cowboys 38-24 in their second home game of the season.

Let’s answer some key questions from another BYU football win.

Who was the most valuable BYU football player?

Jaren Hall has clearly been the Cougars best player this season, and that was case again in the win against Wyoming.

His decision making is impressive. The ball is rarely put in harms way.

Hall ended his night completing 81 percent of his passes for 337 yards and four touchdowns.

The final drive of the first half was a thing of beauty.

His pass on third down to Puka Nacua on that drive was a huge play that allowed the Cougars to take a halftime lead.

Possibly the best throw of the day came on the final touchdown pass to Keanu Hill.

Hill caught the long pass in stride and then drug his defender in the end zone.

Enjoy this guy Cougar fans, he’s special.

Most impactful play of the game?

It was an up and down performance for the BYU defensive line, but I thought the sack by Tyler Batty on the Cowboys second drive of the third quarter was important.

The Cougars were gaining momentum and another stop by the defense would give BYU some breathing room.

After BYU scored to make it 21-10, Batty made a great move to get in the backfield to sack Andrew Peasley early in the drive.

Wyoming couldn’t overcome the negative play and punted the ball back to BYU.

Hall led the Cougars down the field for a scoring drive on a touchdown pass to give them an 18 point lead and the Cowboys never threatened after that point.

Interesting stat from the game?

Although the run game wasn’t very productive, the offense made up for it with their ability to keep the chains moving.

BYU went 7 for 12 on third down.

Several of those conversions resulted in touchdowns.

The Cougars were 0 for 1 on fourth down, however, that’s a play Brayden Cosper is going to want back after he dropped a pass that would have easily

When was the game over for BYU football?

After Tyler Batty and the BYU forced the Wyoming offense into their second punt of the third quarter, Hall led the offense down the field for another well balanced attack resulting in a touchdown.

It was a long developing play that resulted in Hall finding Keanu Hill on a crossing pattern.

I loved the touch put on the pass by Hall to allow Hill to run underneath the catch.

After struggling for most of the first half, the BYU offense looked much better in the second half scoring 24 points.

They were able to run the ball behind Miles Davis and they did whatever they wanted through the air.
