60 in 60: #2 BYU’s Jaren Hall (Quarterback)
SALT LAKE CITY – The countdown for Hans & Scotty’s 60 in 60 is on. Coming in at #2 is BYU’s Jaren Hall (QB).
Throughout the summer Hans & Scotty are counting down the top 60 college football players in the state of Utah as voted on by the media (and a fan ballot).
“Big-time playmaker can do it with his feet, can do it with his hands, has a strong arm,” BYU head coach Kalani Sitake said of his quarterback. “Has a great baseball background and is looking to improve from understanding the offense way more than he did last year.”
BYU’s Jaren Hall
Hall is a junior from Spanish Fork, Utah. After a successful baseball and football career at Maple Mountain High School, Hall joined the BYU program in 2018. He played in two games during the 2018 season, finishing with four rushing attempts for four yards. Hall appeared in seven games during the 2019 season, completing 31 of his 46 pass attempts for 420 yards and one touchdown. He rushed for 139 yards and three TD’s.
Hall had to use his medical redshirt during the 2020 season. He won the starting quarterback job last season and appeared in nine games, completing 171 of his 266 pass attempts for 2,434 yards, 17 touchdowns and five interceptions. Hall also ran the ball 54 times for 215 yards and three TD’s. With Hall at quarterback last season, BYU’s offense averaged 33 points per game and 452 yards of total offense per contest, while converting 46% of their third downs.
Hall and the Cougars open their 2022 schedule on the road against the USF Bulls on September 3.
