The first individual to report the news was the “Pope of the Pac-12,” Jon Wilner from the Bay Area News Group. From there, national outlets started to confirm the report. USC and UCLA are reportedly going to join the Big Ten as early as 2024.
After the reports flew in, the reactions from social media were what you’d expected, stunned.

Utah really won the Pac 12 and then two of the historical powers said “Nah, that’s it, we’re out”

If USC and UCLA do indeed leave the Pac-12, whats Oregon’s move? Try and follow to the Big 10? Stay in the Pac-12? Look at the Big 12? This is such a massive shift in college athletics if this plays out.

Pac-12 teams have long complained about recruiting struggles of playing games so late. That’s about to change for USC/UCLA

lol, who the hell would UCLA’s three permanent rivals (in a no-divisions universe) be? Just USC in a best-of-3?

Note to Big 12: Hiring a commish from the entertainment world rather than sports guarantees 0. Just ask the Pac 12.

The Big Ten is about to be the
Big Sixteen and the Pac-12 is gonna be the Pac-10 again.

If USC and UCLA join the Big Ten, the SEC and Big Ten have clearly established themselves as a big two. The ACC is a much further behind in third place and the Big 12 and PAC 12 are both left struggling to survive as major conferences. Maybe Big 12 and PAC 12 try to merge?

Trying to wrap my head around the USC/UCLA/Big 10 report. The financial and competitive reasons for the LA schools to make the moves are obvious. The idea of conference games against Rutgers is kind of bizarre. But Ohio State and Michigan coming to the Coliseum is a wild idea

Because anyone who’s been paying attention knows this is the direction Big CFB it going and USC/UCLA are the big tickets in the PAC 12 (plus Oregon). Rather scoop them up now and be proactive https://t.co/pd91vEURFj

Fun last 18 months in college football:
– NCAA passes a one-time transfer exemption
– NIL is enacted with almost no structure, recruits are now earning multi-million dollar deals
– Texas and OU to SEC
– USC and UCLA to the Pac-12
– Total shakeup in the AAC, Sun Belt, C-USA,
