SALT LAKE CITY – The countdown for Hans & Scotty’s 60 in 60 is on. Coming in at #50 is BYU’s Harris LaChance (OL).

Throughout the summer Hans & Scotty are counting down the top 60 college football players in the state of Utah as voted on by the media (and a fan ballot).

“A big time o-lineman for us,” BYU head coach Kalani Sitake said of his offensive lineman. “He can play the guard and tackle position, can play left and right. Extremely physical, had some injury issues last year but is looking really healthy right now, had a great spring. Looking forward to seeing him dominate the line of scrimmage with his teammates. Very versatile, athletic and great footwork for a big guy.”

BYU’s Harris LaChance

LaChance is a junior from Herriman, Utah.

At Herriman High School, LaChance was named all-region and all-state in 2014, while helping the Mustangs to region titles in 2013 and 2014. He played both offensive and defensive lines in high school.

A multi-sport athlete in high school, LaChance played basketball, rugby and football for Herriman. During his recruitment, he received interest from TCU, Wisconsin, Utah, Utah State and Washington.

He gained exposure during the recruiting process by attending the All-Poly Camp. The offensive lineman joined BYU in 2018 after serving a two-year church mission in Nashville, Tennessee. He is married and has a son. The Herriman, Utah native looks to have a big season for the Cougars if he can stay healthy.

LaChance is the second BYU player to appear in the 60 in 60 list in 2022, joining fullback Houston Heimuli at No. 54.
