Aimaq Leads UVU To Comeback Win Over Sam Houston State

SALT LAKE CITY – Fardaws Aimaq posted a double-double and led the Utah Valley men’s basketball team to a comeback victory over the Sam Houston State Bearkats.
The Bearkats hosted the Wolverines on Saturday, February 5.
UVU beat Sam Houston State, 57-54.
After the opening 20 minutes of game time, the Wolverines trailed by eight points at the halftime break.
Aimaq helped the Wolverines come back in the second half.
Utah Valley outscored Sam Houston by double figures over the final half.

After the Bearkats scored on a layup to give themselves a 54-49 lead with 3:38 to go, the Wolverines closed the contest on an 8-0 run.
UVU finished the game shooting 43.9 percent overall and 41.7 percent from beyond the arc.

Aimaq led the Wolverines with 24 points, 10 rebounds, one assist, one steal, and a block.

With the win, the Wolverines improved their record to 15-7 this season, including 6-4 in Western Athletic Conference action.
Utah Valley’s next game is at home against the Grand Canyon Antelopes on Thursday, February 10 at 6 p.m. (MDT) on ESPN+.
