Jazz Re-Sign Danuel House Jr. To 10-Day Contract

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz are signing free-agent guard Danuel House Jr. to a 10-day contract.

House Jr. originally signed with the Jazz on a 10-day hardship contract after the team was hit hard by the coronavirus two weeks ago.

The veteran forward made three appearances for the Jazz during his initial stint and averaged 5.3 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.7 assists while shooting 41 percent from the floor and 44 percent from the three-point line.

House Jr. is a six-year NBA veteran with 179 games of experience prior to joining the Jazz. The wing began his career in Washington and Phoenix, before spending three seasons in Houston where he became a regular rotation player.

In 154 games with the Rockets, House averaged 9.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.4 assists while shooting 42 percent from the floor and 37 percent from the three-point line.

House signed a 10-day contract with the New York Knicks earlier this year after the Rockets released the guard while they enter a full rebuild.

The wing stands 6-foot-6 and weighs 220-pounds giving him good size for a modern NBA perimeter player.

After trading guard Miye Oni earlier this month and waiving two-way forward Malik Fitts who suffered a wrist fracture, the Jazz needed to add another player to fill their open roster spots.

House Jr. was unavailable to play with the Jazz in last Wednesday’s loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers with a non-COVID illness but returned to practice on Friday before his hardship contract expired.
