SALT LAKE CITY – Former BYU and current San Francisco 49ers linebacker Fred Warner suffered a non-contact injury during a Wild Card game against the Dallas Cowboys.

The Cowboys hosted the Niners at AT&T Stadium on January 16.

With 8:40 remaining in the fourth quarter, Warner suffered a non-contact injury after a 1st & Goal play by the Cowboys.

Warner grabbed his leg in pain while lying on the turf.

The former BYU standout was able to walk to the sidelines under his own power.

A few minutes later, San Francisco ruled Warner as “Questionable” to return with an ankle injury.

Before leaving the field, Warner and the Niners owned a 23-10 lead. Warner had five total tackles and two solo tackles.

The Wild Card game between the 49ers and Cowboys is televised on CBS, Paramount+, Prime Video, and Nickelodeon.
