SALT LAKE CITY – Nickelodeon set off its slime cannons after a touchdown during a broadcast of the NFC Wild Card game between the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys.
The Cowboys hosted the Niners at AT&T Stadium on January 16.
With 10:54 left in the opening quarter, 49ers running back Elijah Mitchell ran the ball into the end zone for a four-yard score.
Mitchell’s touchdown triggered Nickelodeon’s augmented reality slime cannons.

The score gave San Francisco a 7-0 lead over Dallas.
With 5:24 remaining in the second quarter, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott hit wide receiver Amari Cooper for 20 yards and six points.
The Prescott-Cooper connected set off the slime cannons once again and cut Dallas’ deficit to 13-7.

The end zone slime cannons were only a portion of Nickelodeon’s AR offerings for the postseason contest. The Niners/Cowboys game was the first NFL broadcast by Nickelodeon this season.
Last season, the kids’ television network drew high praise for its telecast featuring slime cannons.
