Utah Gymnastics Coach Tom Farden Agrees To Contract Extension

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Gymnastics program announced that head coach Tom Farden has agreed to a contract extension that will keep him in SLC through 2026.
Tom Farden is in his seventh season as the head coach of the Red Rocks and his 12th season at Utah. He has led the Red Rocks to consecutive Pac-12 titles, an NCAA Regional championship and a third place finish at the NCAA Championships.
“Tom has done an incredible job of carrying forth the phenomenal legacy of the Utah Gymnastics program and has continued to raise the bar to compete for national championships,” said Utah Athletics Director Mark Harlan. “The work he has done to develop an elite culture for this Red Rocks program and to set expectations at the highest level in all areas is nothing short of remarkable. This is an exciting time for Utah Gymnastics, and we look forward to having Tom continue to lead our program and build upon the foundation of success he has established.”

The Red Rocks have carried the success from the Marsdens to now Farden as a Pac-12 powerhouse. Utah has been undefeated in conference play the past two seasons.
“I am very thankful for Mark Harlan‘s confidence in me to continue leading this program for many years to come,” said Farden on his extension. “There truly is no place like Utah and I cannot thank our administration enough for the support that our entire program receives. The legacy of this program was built beginning 46 years ago and I am so honored to continue being a part of it moving forward.”
No. 4 Utah will host No. 3 Oklahoma on Friday, January 14 at the Jon M. Huntsman Center at 7:30 p.m. MT on ESPN2.
