Stability Finally Starting To Cast Hope Over Real Salt Lake

SALT LAKE CITY – Real Salt Lake is finally reaping the rewards of a deep postseason run. For the first time since 2013, Real Salt Lake was just one of two teams contending for a Western Conference title.
As disappointing as the 2-0 loss to Portland was last weekend, the feeling amongst the team immediately following was one of silent jubilation. Although the players, coaching staff, and front office were not celebrating the loss, you could certainly tell that everybody inside the dressing room was proud of the accomplishment.
As the club rests prior to the start of the 2022 campaign, the status of Real Salt Lake now is far healthier than it was just a few months ago.
As it has been well-publicized, the club has endured a lot of scandal over the years. From Mike Petke using unwarranted language to the referees following a League’s Cup fixture to former owner Dell Loy Hansen being accused as a racist and sexist.
Even this year Freddy Juarez remarkably left his post as the manager to become an assistant coach at conference rival Seattle.

However, as the highly anticipated news regarding ownership and management nears, the club finally feels stable.
The roster is talented, the belief of the group is palpable, and the spirit of the club is thriving. Initiatives like “The RSL Way” handbook have been pivotal in the continued growth of the club. General Manager Elliot Fall and his front office team have done a tremendous job restructuring the landscape of the roster and coaching staff.
While President John Kimball has navigated the rough waters exceptionally well and has guided the club to smoother terrain.
In all facets of the organization, the club is in a better spot now than it was a year ago. Ticket sales are up, fan engagement is higher, the culture of the club is healthier, everything about the organization is improving.
With new ownership and management secured shortly, Real Salt Lake will have an opportunity to take the next step in its progression.
Further stability will only continue to advance Real Salt Lake in the standings and from a cultural perspective.
If you have contemplated becoming a member of the Real Salt Lake family now is the time.
