BYU Basketball At San Diego Postponed On Day Of Game Due To COVID-19 Protocols

PROVO, Utah – BYU basketball isn’t having any luck playing at San Diego this season. For the second time in as many tries, BYU’s game against the Toreros has been postponed due to COVID-19 protocols.
The news was first reported by CBS Sports College Basketball Insider Jon Rothstein.

BYU was in San Diego for today’s game when they received word that the game is being postponed.
This is the fifth time during West Coast Conference play that a BYU game has been postponed due to COVID-19. It’s the second game in a week that has been postponed, BYU found a replacement for its previous postponement in Pacific.

All five of the postponements including this game were due to COVID-19 protocols from BYU’s opponent.
BYU basketball now has one game currently scheduled this week when they travel to the Pacific Northwest to take on the Portland Pilots on Thursday night (5 p.m., KJZZ-TV).
The Cougars are 14-4 overall on the season and 5-2 in West Coast Conference. As of Tuesday, BYU is projected as a nine-seed in the upcoming NCAA Tournament by the Bracket Matrix, a site that compiles Bracketology projections.
