BYU is allowing 6,000 fans to attend Saturday’s game against Western Kentucky. After three home games with no fans in the stands, BYU athletics welcomed fans for the first time last week in the win over Texas State. The decision to allow fans at LaVell Edwards Stadium was in accordance with the state of Utah’s health guidance levels announced by Utah Governor Gary Herbert earlier this month.

Last week, the announced attendance for BYU’s 52-14 win over Texas State ended up at 6,570 people. The second-largest crowd to watch a BYU football game this season, behind the 10,092 fans that saw the Cougars defeat Houston in Texas on October 16th.
Fans received their tickets digitally and were made available on apps such as Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. Individuals who purchased tickets had to sit in their assigned seats. For spectators in chairback seats, BYU marked off chairs that were not intended to be used.

BYU’s ticketing for each home game will be announced on a per-game basis. After the Halloween night tilt against Western Kentucky, BYU will host North Alabama (November 21st, 1 p.m.) and San Diego State (December 12th, TBA).
BYU is currently ranked No. 10 in the Amway Coaches Poll and No. 11 in the Associated Press Top 25. The Cougars highest ranking since 2009. With a win over Western Kentucky, BYU would move to 7-0 for the first time since 2001.
